Over 30 years ago, I began a rich and fulfilling career in college admissions.  First working in admissions offices on the college side at Vassar, Pomona, and the College of William & Mary afforded me a rare opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the decision process used by a variety of  highly selective institutions.  Over the years, I learned firsthand all about the key aspects that are so important to students and families as they research, visit, interview, apply, consider financial implications, and ultimately make decisions about where to matriculate.  That experience reviewing thousands and thousands of applications also certainly helped me as I next transitioned to a role in college counseling at secondary schools. 

As the Director of College Counseling at the Brentwood School, my team and I developed many programs that led to both individual student success in high school and their ability to attain their college/university goals.  I then continued my career in Upper Administration as a Head of Upper School and Assistant Head of School at Sierra Canyon, Laguna Blanca and Buckley, respectively.  Each of those roles helped me to further refine my understanding of how best to support young adults through the whole process: finding passion, engaging in meaningful activities, attaining academic success, strategizing test preparation, building meaningful relationships with teachers, and ultimately finding a great college fit. As “advertised” college was the best four years of my life! I received a degree in Psychology from Vassar College and went on to earn my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from UCLA.
